A railway project at the heart of the Strawberry Coast |
|
The Hamble Vallery Railway Society is a group dedicated to construction a narrow gauge railway along the former standard gauge Bishops Waltham to Botley branchline, which finally closed in 1962. The groups hope is that the railway will enhanced tourism in the Hamble Valley area, while also providing a sustainable public transport service from Bishops Waltham and the Hamble Valley to the mainline connection at Botley, whilst providing access to some of the beautiful landscape of the Strawberry Coast.
